Summary:
A Polish scientist offers a technology for elimination of water pollution based on the photocatalysis.
The offered solution uses high UV radiation and titanium dioxide catalyst to remove such pollutants as paints, petroleum, halogens derivative compounds and pesticides. Side products of the purification process are environmentally friendly.
Partners from the mining, iron works and chemical industries interested in the technology implementation are sought for a license agreement.

The scientist from North West Poland developed a technology to eliminate water pollution through the use of photocatalysis.
The offered solution is based on UV irradiation of polluted water with titanium dioxide catalyst (TiO2). As an effect of the photocatalysis, the water pollution are removed. That method is effective also with paints, petroleum, halogens derivative compounds and pesticides that are difficult to eliminate. Side products of the chemical reaction are neutral for the environment so they can be stored on the dumping ground.
The technology can be used in elimination of burial grounds that store substances harmful for the environment as well as in the water purification. It helps to remove pollutants produced by mines, ironworks and chemical industry.
The effectiveness of this method has been tested on the most common pollutions. Therefore, semi-technical test installation equipped with complex power supply, UV and control sets has been built. It is able to work in the industry common conditions. The method allows to use the installation directly in overflows and water streams as well as in a stagnant water.
License agreement is offered.
