A Polish research institute has developed an eco-friendly method of enriching coal and economic use of obtained waste. The method enables destoning of coal winning, which improves parameters of the coal quality. This new approach modifies (simplifies) the currently used technological solution, eliminating problems coming out when coal is being enriched with the use of the wet method. The partners for technical cooperation, joint venture or further product development are sought.
Details:
A Polish research institute working in the field of rock mining and building materials has developed an eco-friendly method of enriching coal and economic use of obtained waste. The method enables destoning of coal winning which gives improvement to the parameters of coal quality. This new approach modifies (simplifies) currently used technological solution eliminating, therefore, problems coming out when coal is being enriched with the use of wet method. The newly developed technology gives an opportunity of obtaining great amount of gangue and also allows investment cost decrease.
The gangue disposal and high production costs of coal assortments are the main ecological and economic problems of hard coal mining. New EU law regulations impose to Member States a necessity of high recovery level of the gangue. New, eco-friendly method of enriching coal uses air gravity concentrating tables and a coal enrichment system. In this method after initial separation of a coarse fraction from a gangue, part of a fine fraction (less than 100 mm) is being air-reached what allows final separation of gangue and a product useful for power industry which is being added to coal assortments.
Type and Role of Partners Sought:
The institute is searching another R&D institution/inventor for further technology development or industry partner for implementation of the elaborated technology and adaptation of it for the local needs.
