英文原文:A Spanish Public Research Organization has developed a monoclonal antibody useful for the detection of amyloids aggregates of a bacterial protein reporter. It can be used to develop kit and arrays designed to test with high performance potential inhibitors of amyloid proteinopathies with greater specificity and affinity than those present on the market today. Enterprises developing treatments for diseases caused by amyloids are sought to use the technology under patent licence. Many degenerative diseases are related to the pathological aggregation of proteins into amyloids-like structures. In recent years new antibodies have been developed that are able to discriminate between different protein conformations, soluble active and amyloid aggregated. However, they often are not highly specific and show low affinity. The researchers have developed and antibody, called B3h7, useful for the recognition and detection of amyloid forms and aggregates thereof. This antibody recognizes amyloid oligomers of the model protein RepA-WH1, thus blocking its assembly into mature amyloid fibrils. The protein RepA-WH1 is the first synthetic system that’s safely mimics in bacteria an amyloid proteinpathy. Besides, it has been developed the hybridoma producing this antibody. ? The antibody B3h7 recognizes the model protein RepA-WH1, not recognized by other commercial antibodies. ? The antibody is highly specific and shows high affinity. ? It can be used as a tool for detection and quantification of amyloid aggregates using several techniques, including High-Throughput Screening. ? It can be used in kits and arrays to detect, locate and quantify the oligomeric amyloid form RepA-WH1, both in vivo biologic and in vitro assembled samples
