英文原文：A Spanish public research organization and a Spanish University have developed a new antibody that can react with salmonella serotypes Typhimurium and 4,5,12:i:- (which are highly virulent and resistant to common antibiotics). Compared to other antibodies, this don’t show crossed reactivity with other serotypes and could be useful for the specific detection of these species. Biotech and pharmaceutical companies are sought for further development under a license agreement. Is the first known antibody that reacts with Salmonella enterica ser.4,5,12:i:-. ? Although several commercial antibodies are known for salmonella detection, and some are specific for flagellar proteins, most of them have cross-reactivity with different serotypes. The new antibody is specific for serotypes Typhimurium and 4,5,12:i:- and no cross-reactions are observed with other serotypes. ? Commercial antibodies for salmonella serotypes Typhimurium are only specific to first phase flagellar antigen, and a change of phase is required in order to avoid false negatives, the new antibody is the first that reacts with second phase proteins avoiding the need to perform a change of phase.
