A Dutch company has developed, in close cooperation with a university of technology, extensive knowledge on various types of energy storage mechanisms, like springs. This resulted in an innovative standup chair mechanism that preserves muscle force and assists people with reduced muscle function to stand up again on their own. The Dutch company is interested in commercial agreements with technical assistance and license contracts with furniture manufacturers aiming at elderly people.
